The license has a prerequisite
A Copilot seat will not attach to every Microsoft 365 plan. Business Standard, Business Premium, and Enterprise plans such as E3 or E5 are the bases we see most often. Business Basic is often not a qualifying plan. The list changes, so we read it against your tenant before we order a single seat. We do not quote a Copilot price here. The amount is the add-on Microsoft is selling for the term you choose, monthly or annual, and we put that figure in the quote.
If you already bought Copilot on a credit card inside the admin center, we can move an eligible subscription onto our direct CSP agreement so it renews with the rest of the licenses. If the organization is a nonprofit, Copilot may or may not be on the nonprofit offer list that month. We check. We do not promise a donated Copilot seat.
Who should get a seat first
Not everyone in a twenty-person office needs a seat on day one. We start with the people who already live in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams: the person who writes proposals, the person who maintains the workbook, the person who answers the shared mailbox. A short pilot shows whether the files Copilot would use are in SharePoint and OneDrive, or still in a desktop folder it cannot see. Buying more seats does not fix files that were never uploaded.
Copilot answers from content the signed-in person can already open. A file shared with the whole company is a file it can use. Before the pilot we walk through sharing: what should move to a private library, and what is fine in the team site. We do not turn on every preview feature in the tenant. We leave Microsoft's recommended defaults unless you have a reason to change one, and we write down what we changed.
Training and the support desk
The useful session is short and uses your files. A proposal, a budget workbook, a thread in the shared mailbox. We show what a grounded request looks like, what happens when the file is missing, and how to check the citation before anyone sends the result to a client or a board. Leaders get a separate conversation on which roles should have a seat next and which roles should wait.
After that, support is the same email desk as the rest of the tenant: support@true.org, for organizations in the United States and Canada. A typical reply is one business day. Seat changes, a person who should be removed from the pilot, and a question about where a file is visible all go to that address. Setup of the underlying Microsoft 365 tenant, if you do not have one yet, is the work on our Microsoft 365 page, done before Copilot is added.
Questions we answer before a quote
Can we add Copilot to Business Basic?
Often no. We check the current qualifying list against the licenses already in the tenant. If the base plan does not qualify, we say so and quote the step up only if you want it. We do not order Copilot seats that will not attach.
Will Copilot read every file in the company?
It uses what that person can already open. Sharing settings matter more than the license. We review those settings with you before the pilot, including libraries that should stay private.
Do you train the whole staff?
We train the pilot group on your files, and we brief whoever decides the next seats. A catalog tour of every Copilot button is not the session.
Is nonprofit Copilot free?
Only if Microsoft's published nonprofit offer says so at the time we order. We look it up. We do not promise a donated seat.
