Microsoft Azure for Small Business: Subscriptions, Setup and Support

TRUE.org can put an Azure subscription under the same direct CSP relationship as your Microsoft 365 licenses, for a small number of workloads in the United States and Canada.

United States and Canada. Email support@true.org. A typical reply is one business day.

What we will actually set up

The requests that fit are narrow. A virtual machine to replace one aging server. A storage account and a backup for files that have to leave the office. A VPN so a few people can reach that server. The same Entra ID accounts people already use for Microsoft 365, so they are not handed a second directory. We are not a 24-hour operations center, and we do not bid on large landing-zone programs. If the estate is one to a few workloads, we can own the subscription, the resource layout, and the backup schedule.

Azure under CSP is consumption billing. You pay for what the subscription uses, on the terms Microsoft applies, rather than a fixed seat price. We do not publish rates for virtual machines, storage, or outbound traffic. Those figures change, and a number on this page would be stale. We estimate a workload only after we know the disk, the memory, and the backup you need.

How a move off an old server works

We write down what the current server does: which application, which file shares, who signs in, and what downtime you can spare. The Azure subscription is created in your tenant, with billing through us. We size the machine from the current disk and memory, not from a default size we hope will fit. Cutover is a window on the calendar. Changing mail DNS is a separate decision from moving a server, and we do not change a domain until you approve it.

After cutover we restore a file from backup once, on purpose, so the first time you need a file is not the first time a restore has been tried. We also look at the cost view with you in the first month. An idle virtual machine still costs money on consumption billing. Part of support is noticing that and shutting down what you are not using.

Support, and what nonprofit offers do not cover

Questions about the subscription, a stopped backup, a disk filling up, or a charge you did not expect go to support@true.org. Support is email, for organizations in the United States and Canada, and a typical reply is one business day. We are the people who created the subscription and the people who can see the bill.

Nonprofit eligibility for Microsoft 365 does not automatically donate Azure. If a credit or sponsorship is available when we order, we will tell you what it covers and what it does not. We will not assume the virtual machine is free. If all you need this month is Microsoft 365 and not a server, start there. Azure can be added later under the same agreement.

Questions we answer before a quote

Can Azure billing sit with our Microsoft 365 licenses?

Yes. That is the usual reason to put both under the same direct CSP agreement. One partner, one place to ask about a renewal or a charge.

Do you publish virtual machine prices?

No. Consumption rates change, and the size depends on the server you have. The quote comes after we see the disk, the memory, and the backup.

Will you run this overnight if the server fails?

No. Support is email during the business day. We set up backup and we test a restore. We are not a staffed night desk.

Is Azure included in nonprofit Microsoft 365 grants?

Not automatically. We check what, if anything, Microsoft is offering for Azure when we order, and we tell you before anything is created.

Send the tenant and what you need.

Same form as the top of this page. It goes to support@true.org. Include the domain if you already have a tenant.
