Copilot

Copilot readiness and Copilot Business deployment

A conversation for a nonprofit or small business that wants to know whether Microsoft 365 Copilot, including a Copilot Business deployment, belongs in the tenant yet. Eligible organizations may qualify for a Microsoft-funded assessment; eligibility is determined by Microsoft program terms. TRUE.org does not decide that, and we do not name a dollar amount. Who it is for

This is for an organization in the United States or Canada that already uses Microsoft 365, or is about to, and is asking a practical question: are we ready to deploy Copilot for the business, or would we be buying seats the staff cannot use safely? It fits a charity, a clinic, a firm, or a shop with one tenant and a person who can tell us which roles live in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

It is not a promise that Copilot will be funded, and it is not a rollout. If Microsoft's program terms do not cover the assessment, we still tell you what we saw. If Copilot is the wrong next step, we say that.

What the assessment covers

We separate Copilot Chat, which Microsoft includes with Microsoft 365, from Microsoft 365 Copilot, the add-on that works inside the Office apps and Teams. A Copilot Business deployment means putting that add-on on the people who would actually use it, not on every mailbox. We check whether those people can already open the files they would ask about. Copilot answers from content the signed-in person can open, so a shared library that is too open is a problem before any seat is assigned.

We look at the base licenses. Copilot does not attach to every Microsoft 365 plan. We say if a plan would have to change, and we do not quote a price on this page. We also look at whether a nonprofit offer might apply. Microsoft publishes those terms and can change them. We will not tell you that you qualify before Microsoft does.

If a funded assessment is not available, the review on this page is still the same conversation: readiness first, deployment only if the tenant can support it. The form goes to support@true.org.

Will Microsoft pay for this assessment?

Eligible organizations may qualify for a Microsoft-funded assessment; eligibility is determined by Microsoft program terms. TRUE.org does not guarantee funding.

Do we have to buy Copilot seats to ask?

No. The point of the assessment is to decide whether a deployment should happen.
