Free technology assessment for nonprofits, charities and schools

TRUE.org, a 501(c)(3), looks at the Microsoft 365 tenant you have, or the one you are about to start, and tells you in writing what we would do next. It is part of our mission to help mission-driven organizations use official Microsoft cloud safely.

United States and Canada. Email hello@true.org or call +1 323-409-9001.

What the assessment covers

Microsoft nonprofit grants and eligibility

We read the subscriptions already on your tenant and say where a Microsoft nonprofit grant or discount might apply, and what Microsoft will ask for. Microsoft decides eligibility. We do not approve grants and we do not put prices on this page.

Security and donor data

Who is a global administrator, whether multi-factor sign-in is on, how phishing reaches staff, and how guests and volunteers get into Teams and SharePoint. We name the gaps a small staff can close. This is not a penetration test and we do not invent a score.

Email and file moves

If mail or files still sit in another system, a file server, Google Drive or Dropbox, we list what has to be known before a move to Microsoft 365, SharePoint and OneDrive. DNS does not change during an assessment.

Devices and Windows 11

Which donated or older PCs are ready for Windows 11, and whether Intune would help a small team keep laptops updated and protected.

Teams, training and Copilot

Where staff and volunteers get stuck in Teams, Outlook and SharePoint, and the difference between Copilot Chat, which comes with Microsoft 365, and Microsoft 365 Copilot, which is a paid add-on. We do not promise hours saved.

Programs, donors and reporting

If intake, volunteer lists or donor records live in spreadsheets, we say whether Power BI, Power Platform or Dynamics 365 for nonprofits is worth a conversation, or whether a simpler fix is enough.

What you receive

A short written reply to the work email you send. It says what we saw, what we would leave alone, and what a sensible next step is, including “nothing yet”. If we are the wrong team, we say so.

How proceeds support our mission

This assessment is free and is part of the charitable programs of TRUE ORG CLOUD, a 501(c)(3). Gifts to TRUE ORG CLOUD support those programs: eligibility help, secure setup, and training. Microsoft licensing is provided separately by Acumor Solutions LLC dba TRUE.org, a Microsoft partner. Read our mission.

Questions

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. TRUE.org does not charge for this review, and you do not have to buy anything.

Who can ask?

Registered nonprofits, charities, faith-based organizations and schools in the United States and Canada. If Microsoft would not treat your organization as a nonprofit, we will say so.

Who decides if we get Microsoft's nonprofit offers?

Microsoft does. We help you see what to ask for and what is already on the tenant.

Where does the form go?

To hello@true.org. We reply to the work email you enter, usually within one business day.

Tell us about your organization.

Same form as the top of this page. Include your domain if you already have a Microsoft tenant.
